Description

A silver gilt item......with red and clear stones (not yet tested) found by my metal detector in a ploughed field, west of Bridgend.

It is believed to be either a piece of very old jewellery or a dagger chape.

The item has been reported to and examined by the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff. Their thoughts are that it is designed in the form of a dragon's head.
