Description

My Grandfather H.G. Lucas in the RAF in Canada during World War 2. He was from Porthcawl in South Wales.

On the back of the photograph is says "Photo supply Assibiboia, Sask. From your loving son, Hubert". Assibiboia, Saskatchewan, Canada, was the site of a training station for allied air forces during WW2.

During the war they couldn't get exotic fruit in the UK so Hubert sent a photo of himself eating a banana to his mum.
