Description

Photographs of Walter Baird, my Great, Great Uncle who served in Portmouth in the Navy. He was an engineer in the Navy.

Walter was in South Africa while the ship was being serviced. They took the ship out of the dock without any weapons because it was having a refit, and it was bombed and sunk by the Japanese.
