Report of the Patagonia Missionary Society, 1875-6 [front cover, image 1 of 8]
Description
The Patagonia Missionary Society was established in order to support the missionary work of the Rev. D. Lloyd Jones, who had been sent to work as a missionary among the indigenous people of Patagonia. Although an appeal was made to the London Missionary Society to send a missionary to Patagonia, this request was not granted. Moreover, no financial support was provided to assist the work of the Rev. D. Lloyd Jones. In this report, it is noted that the Rev. D. Lloyd Jones is living on next to nothing and is finding it hard to support his wife and six children. In order that he can continue with his work, the Welsh churches are asked to sent part of their collections to the Patagonia Missionary Society. The treasurer of the Society was Thomas Gee, Denbigh. The report also contains details of all contributions that were received during the year 1875-6.
