This Marshall Steam Tractor was supplied new to Thomas H. Savage & Son, Haulage Contractor, of Aberystwyth in 1914. Built in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire & delivered here by rail. The engine later finished its working life in 1953 at Newtown, Powys. It was saved for preservation in 1958. I bought the engine in 1997 & moved it back to Aberystwyth. It was fully restored to working order between 2003 & 2011. I believe the photo is taken at the old Council yard at the end of what was then Smithfield Road, later to become Park Avenue.
