Description

Linocut print of Euros Bowen by Paul Peter Piech.

Euros Bowen is regarded as one of the greatest Welsh poets of the twentieth century. He started writing during the harsh winter of 1947 and from the beginning he abandoned the tradition of 'photographic poetry' and the practice of using images as ornaments rather than as a true medium of expression. Although he believed that poetry should not be a means of conveying ideas
and that poets who lyricize nature should not be underestimated, he composed some of the language's most complex poems.
