Description

Linocut print by Paul Peter Piech of Ezra Pound.

Ezra Pound is widely considered as one of the twentieth century’s most influential American poets, and responsible for defining and promoting a modernist aesthetic in poetry. His main contribution to poetry was his development of Imagism, which stressed clarity, precision of imagery and a departure from conventional poetry forms. Along with his own significant contributions to poetry, he also advanced the work of major contemporaries such as W. B. Yeats, Ernest Hemingway, Marianne Moore and T. S. Eliot.
