One of the first things the project team did was to produce a display to introduce the project and this was featured at Wonderwool 2019, as well as at the Academic Conference held at the Museum of Wales in Cardiff in July 2019. Project leaflets were distributed to libraries, museums and archives across Mid Wales to invite volunteers to take part in the research. The display and leaflets also featured at agricultural shows and events in Dolgellau, Barmouth, Machynlleth, Llanidloes, Newtown, Glyn Ceriog, and Llangollen, as well as at the National Eisteddfod in Llanwrst.
