The street plans accompanying the 'Borough Guide' published by Edward J Burrows Co and the later 'Aberystwyth Official Guide and Souvenir' published in 1924 both place the meat market in the vicinity of St Paul's Chapel on Great Darkgate Street. It was built in 1823 and is still used as a small general market.
