Description

The maps included in the Borough Guide published by Edward J Burrows Co around 1905 and the 'Aberystwyth Official Guide and Souvenir' published by the Aberystwyth Corporation in 1924, both show the Post Office at this location. The facia commemorates the accession of Edward VII in 1901, but the building is said to have been built in 1906 by Daniel Thomas, Draper, of Eastgate. The main sorting office of Aberystwyth is now on the Llanbadarn Industrial Estate and the Post Office is now closed. The building is Grade II listed.
