Photoscoot 2020: formerly St Paul's, Methodist Chapel, Great Darkgate Street, Aberystwyth
Description
The 'Aberystwyth Official Guide and Souvenir' published by Aberystwyth Corporation in 1924 notes that services in Welsh were given here by the Rev Evan Isaac. The chapel was built on the site of the Jolly Sailor's public house and was designed and built by Walter Thomas of Liverpool. A shield on the pediment reads 'Saint Paul's 1879'. A schoolroom was built alongside in 1903-04. The chapel closed in 1992 and has been converted into The Academy public house.
