Description

This was a very isolated farm belonging to the Palleg Estate of Ystradgynlais and bordering the Black Mountains. There were no public services or roads and the weather in the winter would be bleak. It would mostly have been used to farm sheep, putting them out to graze on the mountain and would have been a very hard living. In the 1840s the farm was rented by Isaac Lewis at an annual cost of £10 2sh 6d. It was farmed until the early 1900s and was abandoned in about 1980. It is now a total ruin.
