Description

William Edward Billington  
Was born Newport Mon  in December 1918  and was living in Bristol Street, Newport , Mon,  with his parents William and Maisie and worked at Lyaghts as a fitters labourer. William was a cook in the Royal Navy aboard HMS Galatea when it was torpedoed on 15th December 1941, he was only 23 when he was killed, he his remembered on the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
