Aberafan National Eisteddfod, 1966

Description

21 negatives : b&w. Aberafan National Eisteddfod, 1966.

Image 1: At least one item in the Arts and Craft exhibition at Aberafan was not recorded and included in the list of produce, and there was no competition for it either. But the committee members did not protest as the cheeky craftsman showed off his work without permission or an invitation to do so. Indeed the 'craftsman' went one step further - and arranged for his whole family to stau in the building during the Eisteddfod week! Seen here in the picture is the 'craftsman' - a swallow with chicks - who took up residence right at the top of the roof. Will these be on stage today as representatives for Wales and the world?
