The parcel reached me quite safely and thank you very much. Please also convey to Aunt G. my thanks for the tin of biscuits. Have you made those enquiries I asked you to make for me? … long ago it seems now.
It is terribly cold and wet – in fact is snowing hard – I really cannot blame myself for my throat – it has done a lot for me, but one wishes one felt fit.
I can think of very little to write – interesting matter, I am suffering from restlessness. Can you buy, in the cheaper edition a book called The Broad Highway by Jeffery Farnol. I hear it is very good. Please get it as soon as possible and send it along with a pair of socks. I think it better to keep the others in reserve. Very sorry to hear of the five bad casualties.
