Description
Penpentre Shop, Aberangell, 1902. A village store for many years, Penpentre, situated on the steep hill that in earlier times separated the two parts of the village of Aberangell, named Clipiau and Aber. This photograph, again from the first 1902 series, shows the later addition to the building on the left which dates back to the mid 18th century. The occupier at this time was John Parry and his family who was also a slate quarry steward. From collection of Gwyndaf Breese
