The importance of the Church of the Latter Day Saints {Mormons} in Wales was acknowledged in  2018 when Ronald D. Dennis was accepted as a member of the Gorsedd y Beirdd. Professor Dennis can trace his ancestors back to Wales through Dan Jones, the famous Welsh 'Mormon' missionary, and for the last forty years he has been working on the history of the Welsh members of the Church of the Latter Day Saints.
