Men go to the Tram Road - We came on
through the Park straight to Newport -

When I reached the middle of Stow Hill

I heard firing and saw the men running

away - I turned down Charles St -

I went into the house of John Moses a

Plasterer in Charles St - I asked for a

little bread and cheese and drop of water -

Mrs Moses said "are you a Welshman"

I said yes - "you're welcome then" said she

She gave me some tea and bread and

butter - I remained there until nearly

one o'Clock - I had my Dinner there

too - then went home-
