A man named W Mogford
foreman at W Evans' foundry
of Pillgwenlly told Moses Scard
that he was the cause of David
Herring being apprehended and
sent to Gaol for stealing the
Hammer
This Man Mogford intends to
attempt to prove that Gibby
was grinding a large Knife
in the Shop of Stevens when
Herring was turning the Grindstone
Mogford was at the Assizes on
the 10th Inst with a large Carving
Knife in his possession which
Hopkins the Police Officer of
Newport took from him
