The Post Boy of the Cwmfrdwr
Henry James states that a person
came to his masters House at 1 Oclock
on Sunday 3d Nov[embe]r - 5 ft High had on
a Dark Brown coat on & Great Coat
on his arm with a cloth traveling case
red in the face he believes he had
no wisker appeared by his dialect
to be a north country man he
asked the Boy what was the expence
of the carriage and when told said
I am not in the habit of traveling
in this way I am a poor man but
I am going on a serious cause
I took him to Monmouth stopped at
Usk but did not take any thing
he went on immediately in a Gig
from the Beaufort Arms said in a
great Hurry to go on shd not stop
in Monmouth. I said he could
not stop for the Mail which would
not go for 3 Hours as he was bound

got into Monmouth at 7" before ten
and left a little before ten said he
was bound to be in Birmingham this
night have not seen him since
He told me when we parted
& that I should see him again - in
few days
