David Jones - says I live at the Old Bridgend Inn
Risca helping my Son in Law Thomas Duffield -
about 1/2 past 10 Sunday Evening a number of
persons came into the house one man at least was armed with a Pike - They took a saddle &
a double barreled gun from the house & also
took spirits & other things from the house - they went
away about 1/2 past 12 - Some more came about that
time - they were around with various weapons - they
paid for what they had & did not stop there long -
About 3 Oclock - my son in Law & another neighbour
came down stairs & I said to my daughter let's have
some supper & go to bed comfortable - when the servts went
to the Cupboard all the victuals were gone so we
went to bed without - the Spirits & liquors were also
taken from the Bar - Less than 9 days ago
a man (I believe John Thomas) told me he saw my saddle
on another man's horse, he said he could

swear to the saddle but not to the horse at the
Welsh Oak about 4 Oclock on the Monday

coming to my son's house on Sunday night -
