Maria Lewis I live with W[illia]m Phillips in
Commercial Street opposite the Westgate Inn
I have lived there three years and upwards
I was at home on the morning of Monday
the 4th November last - I saw the mob come
down Stow Hill and turn by Mr Phillips the
Mayors House in front of the Westgate
Inn - my masters House is exactly in front of
the Westgate Inn - they were armed, a good
many had Guns, some had pikes and other things:
A saw a man with a wooden leg amongst
them, he carried a Gun on his right shoulder
I should know him again if I was to see him
he had his hat on, I did not see him do anything
with the Gun - I think he had a dark flannel
frock on which was open in front - I saw
a person who I took to be Mr Frost, he walked
at the head of them - I said to my mistress and
the Children, "there is Mr Frost among them"
my mistress made no answer
