Richard Pugh - I am Landlord of the Coach &
Horses at Blackwood There is a Chartist
Lodge held at my house - Monday night used to be
the usual night of meeting - There were a few persons
at my house on the Monday night previous to the
Riots - I took the money some times - I took all
the money- Wm Barwell wrote in the books
sometimes- Currington at others -
Barwell generally gave out the cards - Nothing was charged for
them- the money was applied to to buy papers - [~]
[~] they had the Northern Star the Charter x

Zephaniah Williams ^ slept in my house
_____they came in between 9 & 10 O'clock
on Thursday night ^ & breakfasted there Friday
morning- breakfasted
with him I staid at my house until about 11 or
12 O'clock- they went out then up the road-
towards Blackwood - they returned in about
an hour & a half - The Delegate meeting
was held between 12 & 2 O'clock that day - There
might have 12 or 20 - I don't know how many -
Doctor Price came to mydoor on Friday but
It was about 12 or 1 O'clock I saw Mr Frost speaking to him
did not come in that I know of ^ - The meeting was

over about 4. Frost Williams & Jones ^ then had
tea - I believe there were 9 or 10 altogether - They
left my house about dusk - I heard my Girl

it must have been in the afternoon between

Sunday Evening - he had one glass of beer
& went away directly - I was in the Bar.
From my Bar I cannot see a person standing on
the steps of the front door - I did not see Mr
Wm Davies then or Sunday Evening - I do not
ever recollect a meeting at my house on
Friday before - About 4 o'clock on Sunday Evening

a number of people began to collect about ^ my house
There were a great number of persons in my house[~]

the number increased towards 6 or 7 O'clock ^ -
________________________until my Wife told me about
I never heard what they were going to do ^ 4 O'clock-
I have attended meetings at my own house once or
__________Frost went away with them
twice - The Men went away about 7 O'clock ^

My Wife told me ^the people were going to move
She meant the Chartists - I went out
of my house about 7 o'clock Sunday Evening
I returned about 10. I left some women there
Mr Frost went away about half an hour before
me - I have seen Samuel Roberts at the meetings
I have not seen Wm Harris there -

& 5 or 6 more - I did not see any
one else I knew besides that night
Nothing Tuesday
No one at my House on Wednesday
Thursday night Z.W. & Jones
came towards the Eve-ng 4
or 5 o'clock slept there
Friday - they breakfasted they went
from there bet-n 11 & 12 they came
back after an hour to an hour & a half
did not dine. This was the
day of the delegate Meeting.
There were Z. Williams, Jones
Frost & W. Barwell there no one
slept there that night. I can't
tell the number upstairs
Saturday nothing at all
no one there -
Sunday I have spoken to [:]
I was at all Day till about
7 in the Eve-ng I went out to my
Father in Law Treasure's & ret-d
home at 10 at night.
