John Morgan of Tredegar, Collier states -
About 7 o 'Clock on the Sunday Evening before the Riots at
Newport some men came to my house and forced me to go
with them - We went towards Newport - when we came to
Sir Charles Morgan's Park we halted for some time - I saw
Thomas Davies, Collier of Ebbw Vale there - I saw him for
about 10 minutes - When I first saw him he was walking -
he afterwards sat down a few yards from the mob - when
Mr Frost gave the word "march" I lost sight of him - I was
obliged to go on to Newport and was wounded at the Westgate.
