Thomas Davies is a Sawyer & lives by the Pottery
in Newport is a married man & worked last
week for MrJohn Moses - left his house
about an hour ago- & walked up Charles Street
as far as the turnpike gate where he was taken
I was going as far as the Kevan to look for
a job - there is sawing work there for a
wheelwright. I went to bed last night
about 10 oclock . My wife lives in the house with
me. No one else except our children live there
My eldest Son is 9 years of age. I have had no
company since I left the house -
Mr O Dwyer took from his person a small
scymiter a hammer with one blunt
& one sharp end a loaded pistol with
cap on - a box of percussion caps a bag of
balls- a flask of powder.
