Rega v Thomas Davis

Simon Leonard states - I keep the
Hanbury Arms at Pont Aberbeeg in the parish
of Llanhilleth - On Sunday night between
11 & 12 - I had gone up stairs to go to bed when
I heard a knocking at my front door - I
looked out of my bedroom
window & saw a number of men outside
the house - I tapped at the window to let
them know I heard them - They called out &
said unless I come down directly
they would burst the door open and one
of them fired off a gun, but not I believe
at me - I went down & let them in, & they
immediately rushed in & filled all the lower
rooms of the house - I should there were a
hundred or more - I only knew one
amongst them Zephaniah Williams - They
asked for Beer which I drew for them - they
