William Woodward States That on Sunday the
third of November last - I
saw Jones of Pontypool pass through Tredegar
He was on a Bay Horse rather small - The Horse (or Mare)
I do not know which had been sweating a good deal
I looked particularly at him as his horse was sweating
very much - This was about four or half past four
o'clock - Jones was dressed in a Pilot Cloth Coat
Jones spoke to three Men in front of me - Oliver Jenkins
James Southway and Jacob Randall three men
now run away from Tredegar -

I recollect Sunday the third of
November last - I saw Jones of Pontypool
- I know
him well - I have seen him twice - once on the Stage
once in Dukes Town - and once by Zephaniah Williams'
I saw him pass through Tredegar on Sunday the
third of November - I was coming up from the Tredegar
Company's Stables - It was about 4 or half past 4
o'clock - I had no Watch - William Woodward
was behind me and three other Men - Oliver Jenkins
James Southway and Jacob Randall - Jones was
riding on a small Bay Horse on a trot and fast as he
passed me he Galloped
