Monmouth County Gaol

23rd November 1839

Agreeable to your request I forwarded to you a list of the
Prisoners at present in this Gaol but as regards to accommodation
I beg to state that we consider the Gaol to be rather crowded
but have sleeping room for twenty or thirty more still
putting them three in a cell during the night which
is constantly the case in more or less degree according
to the number of prisoners
