Description

A chrome plated helmet plate badge of the Radnorshire Constabulary (1857 - 1948). Smallest of the Welsh County police forces. When it went out of existence the force consisted of 1 Chief Constable, 1 Inspector and 20 other ranks. At midnight on 31st March 1948 Radnorshire Constabulary ceased to exist and became merged with Breconshire and Montgomeryshire Constabularies, creating the newly formed Mid-Wales Constabulary. *The Ross Mather Police Memorabilia of Wales Collection
