Breconshire County Constabulary
Description
From the collection, this is a uniform belt, worn on the outside of the tunic. Worn by a policeman of the former Breconshire County Constabulary. Leather, with buckle plate and dragon insignia. The dragon is slightly damaged in that the small tail is missing. Judging by the leather, I suspect that it is originally from the Victorian era.l However, a very rare item indeed, and from a very small Welsh county police force. Breconshire Constabulary ceased to exist after 1948, when it became part of a newly created Mid-Wales Constabulary. *The Ross Mather Police Memorabilia of Wales Collection.
