Photograph of William "Roly" Thomas and Joan Sutherland on their wedding day, February 13th, 1943. Roly was granted a 48 hour leave pass to travel from Eastbourne where he was stationed with the Royal Air Force to Swansea to marry his sweetheart. After World War Two, the couple lived in Mumbles before moving to Tenby, Aviemore, Haverford West and finally Broad Haven, where they lived until their deaths in March 2012. They passed away within 5 days of one another, both at the age of 88.
