Description

Glenys James speaks to William Edward Davies who talks about his grandparents who has emigrated to Patagonia on the Mimosa. The gruelling journey is described with some distressing details. He recalls his early life in the settlement and personal affects that were brought with him when he emigrated to Canada. Though he was raised speaking Welsh and Spanish in school, he talks of how important Welsh services at the Chapels such as ‘Bethel’ were in keeping the language alive, as well as the maintaining traditions such as the Gymanfa Ganu.
