Glenys James speaks to Ken Jenkins and Argue Llywelan.

Description

Ken Jenkins sings ‘Ar Hyd Y Nos,’ ‘Dafydd y garreg wen,’ and ‘Suo Gan’, follows with ‘Pwy fydd yma 'mhen can mlynedd,’ ’Y tri cantor,’ ‘Triawd y buarth,’ ‘Daw nghariad i lawr y berllan,’ ‘Y Sipsi,’ (to the hymn tune Iesu, Iesu 'rwyt ti'n ddigon) and finally sings ‘Charge of the light brigade’ in five different ways. She then talks to Glenys James about the Welsh choir community in Canada and her involvement in it. The ‘Gymanfa Ganu’ is a big part of the Canadian-Welsh community, and several were held across the province in the 1970s. The meetings were also an opportunity to showcase Welsh food and crafts such as Carthen and Welsh cakes.
