These photographs were sent to us by John Fanshaw who said: "When I went to Swansea as a student from Somerset in 1965, one of the first thing that surprised me was seeing few prams and babies being carried in Welsh shawls. Later, when I married a Swansea girl and we had our first baby, my mother in law carried him around in a shawl in the traditional way. I now have a small collection of Welsh shawls!!"
