Description

A presentation / commemorative truncheon to the former Neath Borough Police. As a seperate police force, Neath Borough Police ceased to exist after 1947, when it was amalgamated into the Glamorganshire Constabulary. This hand painted and finely decorated truncheon has the wording NEATH BOROUGH POLICE and a central depiction of the Borough coat of arms. Exact date is not known, but likely to be early 20th century. This truncheon forms part of a collection of several other similar truncheons from former Welsh police force towns, boroughs and counties.
