Trip to see Humpback Whale washed ashore at Gileston, near Aberthaw 1983
Description
Mrs Marlene Tapscott sent these images to the national museum for their collections, saying "The whale that washed up on Aberthaw really was memorable. It was a wet day and we had heard on the news about the whale so off we all went to see it. Taking Jayne the oldest and Amanda the youngest. They remember the day too. Howard my husband took the photo. We knew the beach well as my Howard used to work at the power station. It was incredible to see the whale but it was also very sad as the poor little thing was dead."
