John S. Davis was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ('Mormons') through his work as an assistant printer. Converted to the doctrines he was reading and type-setting, he became the main printer for the LDS Church in Wales, based in Merthyr Tydfil.
