John S. Davis was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ('Mormons') through his work as an assistant printer. Converted to the doctrines he was reading and type-setting, he became the main printer for the LDS Church in Wales, based in Merthyr Tydfil. He also translated into Welsh the LDS scriptures The Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants. This article first appeared in Ninnau in November 2021 and is used here with permission.
