A black and white photograph of Fred Beatrup, Police Sergeant of the Radnorshire Constabulary. Fred was stationed in the Elan Valley during the 1890’s for the construction of the dams. Whilst the police station and cells have since been demolished the remains of Freds dwelling still stand although look nothing more than a tin shed. The photograph is reported to have been taken by Thomas Evans who lived in Wye View, Rhayader.
