Des gives a detailed description of life in a Welsh long house in which he grew up in in Llanyre and old farming practices. Talks of his education and stories of his youth. Talks about his career in the Post Office in Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells, working up to becoming the Staff Executive Officer for Powys area. After being made redundant he and his wife set a business doing up and selling Mini Coopers; he also tells of his experiences rallying over the years, and gives explanations of some old Radnorshire sayings.
