Excavation of the Newport Medieval ship

Description

The Newport medieval ship is a 15th century merchant ship found during the construction of The Riverfront theatre in 2002. The ship was excavated from its position on the banks of the River Usk by a team of archaeologists. The team had to excavated the ship from the groundtimber by timber. All together over 1700 timbers were recovered.
