Description

The remains of the horse gin located outside the Western walls of the farm buildings.

At one point there were around eight working mares and a stallion on the island for agricultural work, such as ploughing, harrowing, harvesting and transport. The horse gin ('gin' is derived from 'engine') here is seen beside two small 'mill' wheels, probably used to mill for animal consumption.
