Description

Staff from the Royal Navy Brawdy base descending to South Haven, possibly into Driftwood Bay, as part of their work to establish a communications beacon for the island.

Photographer Tony Howarth says: "I was a member of a party from RN Brawdy who was asked to make a beacon on the island for a lady who I believe was staying for the Summer months. The lady was from a university, doing some survey. This was the only way she would be able it contact the mainland in an emergencyā€¯
