Description

Pages 29 to 42 of an 1859 booklet "Sundays in Wales. Visits to the Places of Worship of the Quakers, the Unitarians, the Roman Catholics, and the Jews by a Week-day Preacher". These excerpts describe a short history of the Jews in Swansea, the synagogue in Waterloo Street and a service at Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement).

This booklet is part of the Local Studies collection of Swansea Council Libraries Service, and we are grateful for their cooperation.

(A copy of these pages is also in West Glamorgan Archives, ref. D/D SHC 26/2 )
