Description

An original framed photograph measuring 15 inches x 12 inches, showing members of the former Newport County Borough Police (Traffic and Communications Department) in 1931.

Interestingly, the Constable shown furthest right (P.C. M. Thomas), is in fact Melbourne Thomas, who later went on to become the Chief Constable of the Glamorgan Constabulary. Mr. Thomas retired from the police in 1969.
