Conwy Town Hall Fire, 1966

Description

A mermaid was found stranded in Conwy at low tide and the local fisherman refused to return her to the water. She cursed the town and its people, vowing that they would forever suffer disaster. Many believe that her curse struck during a fish famine in the 5th century, and more recently when the Town Hall burned down in 1966. A ghostly laughter was supposedly heard by locals as it was engulfed in flames.
