A mythical beast named the Garrog preyed on the locals of Dolgarrog. Some have compared it to a wild boar, while others have claimed that it was a dragon-like creature. Accounts differ, but it’s generally agreed that after the beast was killed a local man kicked it. There is a carving of the Garrog near the water pipelines today.
