Programme of a Competitive Meeting or Eisteddfod held at the Methodist Chapel on New Road in Llandeilo / Llandilo on 26 December 1887
Description
By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. At one time, several eisteddfodau were held in the town each year, such as the children's eisteddfod, the 'Semi-National Eisteddfod' and the chapel eisteddfodau, such as this example.
