Programme of Eisteddfod held at the Drill Hall in Llandeilo / Llandilo on Saturday, 10 March 1923
Description
By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. At one time, several eisteddfodau were held in the town each year, such as the 'Semi-National Eisteddfod', the chapel eisteddfodau, the children's eisteddfod, and general eisteddfodau, such as this example. Rev. W. Crwys Williams, Swansea led the proceedings at this Eisteddfod, held at the Drill Hall (Civic Hall today) in 1923.
