This is a photograph of Royal Navy sailor John Andrews dressed in his working uniform at the Naval recruit training establishment HMS Raleigh. John joined the RN in 1955, so it is safe to assume this photograph was taken in 1955 or 1956. John went on to enjoy a long career in the RN and eventually reached the rank of Chief Engineering mechanic aboard ship. He also served on Her Majesty's RN Nuclear Submarine fleet.
