John Andrews ashore in Livorno Italy 1959

Description

This is a copy of an original photograph of Royal Navy Sailor John Andrews from HMS Gambia. John is photographed standing in front of a monument to the Italian Politician Camillo Benso at the Piazza Cavour, Livorno (also known as LEGHORN), Italy. This photograph was taken by a crew mate of John's, during a trip ashore, as the ship was docked at the harbour. John has written some words on the rear of the photo, where he admits to larking around " under the influence of alcohol".." Who's been drinking ?? Me? never!! "
